The Interwoven

In The Interwoven, I explore the quiet tension between structure and movement, allowing fragmented forms to flow into one another and create a sense of continuous transformation. What began as a restrained composition of ochre and blue gradually evolved through the addition of deep crimson, teal, burnt orange, and touches of cream and gold. The forms suggest figures, fragments, or organic shapes without ever becoming completely defined, inviting the viewer to discover their own relationships within the composition.

My intention was not to create a fixed image, but rather a visual conversation between color, shape, texture, and movement. Curved and angular elements overlap and intersect, creating moments of depth while remaining connected across the surface. The painting reflects my fascination with Cubism and Abstract Expressionism, but also with the freedom of abstraction itself—the idea that a painting can suggest something recognizable while remaining open, mysterious, and continually changing in the eye of the viewer.
